Hollow Bug Knight

·231 words·2 mins

We’re continuing our series on 3D sculpting with a graphics tablet with a new tutorial by Mr. Nunez. This time, the challenge was to recreate the insectoid knight from the famous indie Metroidvania game, Hollow Knight.

Even though the video is only half an hour long, it still took me four or five hours to finish the character. This gave me the chance to spend more time refining my understanding of the different brushes, particularly those in the Simulation tab, which are very useful for manipulating fabrics.

So, once again, the result isn’t exactly true to the model, but I think it’s already much better, and I didn’t have as much trouble figuring out what I was doing. And while I don’t think my previous character turned out very well, I actually think the little earwig isn’t too bad.
